Q: What are the requirements of joining Phi Sigma Rho?
A: You can join Phi Sigma Rho if you are a female student in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or approved major** with a GPA of 2.00 (see How to Join) at the University of Houston.
Q: How do I join?
A: Our chapter holds recruitment twice a year at the beginning of Fall and Spring semester. You must attend at least two of our recruitment events to be considered for a bid. Please email recruitment@uhpsr.org for information about the next recruitment, or check www.uhphisigmarho.com for news about recruitment.
Q: How much time and money would I have to put into Phi Sigma Rho?
A: Joining a sorority is a commitment but Phi Rho is understanding of our sister's difficult majors. Active members are expected to attend certain events during each semester but academic conflicts can be worked around. Dues are charged each semester and may vary slightly if you are concerned with the amount it may be please contact uh.psr.treasurer@gmail.com
Q: I've heard stereotypes about Greek life, are any these true within Phi Sigma Rho?
A: While Phi Rho is an academic sorority we do partake in campus wide Greek life activities such as Frontier Fiesta and Gong Show. However we still obtain high standards for academic achievement and uphold the three basic values of Phi Rho at all times.
Q: Will I be hazed?
A: No! Hazing is against Phi Sigma Rho's By-Laws. We want Phi Rho to be a comfortable and positive environment for sisters to grow as a family of scholars.
Q: Does Phi Sigma Rho have a house?
A: We currently do not have a house and the possibility of having one in the future is based on interest among the sorority.
